Cathy's portraits of farmers in Merriman's Restaurant in Waimea have been staples for years, and this year they got an upgrade. Her images are now much larger and printed on canvas, showcasing her latest addition to her line of work.
Canvas prints are created from an image scanned onto material and stretched on wood strips. Prints are intended to reproduce a look similar to fine art.
The film photographic development process that leads to a completed canvas does not change.
The finished product eliminates mounting, framing and also reduces additional costs to the consumer.
The images are minimally weighted and easily handled.
Since the late 1990's, canvas art has emerged as a less expensive aesthetic alternative for home decor and interior design.
